Founded in Zurich in 2012, SevenFriday is expanding its global reach, as well as its watch lineup. The just-released model P3c/03 “Beach Club” is the perfect antidote to a spring of quarantine with its inspiration from industrial architecture in a fun, stylish package that is beach-ready.

The Beach Club watch is an apt concept for a brand founded on the notion that we should live every day like it’s Friday. Founder Daniel Niederer, a former luxury watch distributor, set out to upend staid industry expectations by successfully combining the efficiency of Japanese movements with the elegance of European design, a decision that resulted in inherent value — high quality at an affordable price point.

And its recent move into the U.S. (represented by World Supply Co. in Los Angeles) means that the brand’s now-iconic aesthetic is more readily available for American wrists. It also means better service, free shipping in the States, and a three-year warranty.

The Beach Club watch is 47mm x 47.6mm with a thickness of 14.2mm and is water-resistant to 100 meters thanks to a screw-down crown. One of its coolest features is its ability to utilize your arm movements — swimming or playing tennis — to kinetically power the watch. Hands and indices are coated with Super-LumiNova to extend your bright summer day at the beach long into the night.

The SevenFriday Beach Club PC3/03 is powered by the automatic Miyota 82s7, which comes with 40 hours of power reserve. The durable case is made of 316L stainless steel topped with K1 hardened mineral crystal. The bezel, crown, and buckle are in black PVD, and the bezel groove line is filled with an attractive aqua-colored Berlac paint, mirroring the color of the sea.

All told, the dial has four layers of construction and applied indices at 12, 4, and 8 o’clock and the brands signature 7F logo engraved on the side of the crown. Strap choices include black calf-leather and black rembordé canvas with blue stitching. The Beach Club has all the basic functions you need without being too busy — centered hour and minute hands with a cleverly offset seconds hand and 24-hour format, along with a visible balance wheel.

The Beach Club also uses NFC (Near Field Communication) technology to allow for secure authentication and registration via a chip embedded in the caseback that you connect to the SevenFriday app.

Price is $1,200 USD. For more information or to purchase the watch visit the SevenFriday website.
