Defined by its daring case design, its use of NORQAIN’s proprietary NORTEQ carbon composite, and its intricate dial, the debut collection was a huge success. The first NORQAIN Independence Wild ONE Skeleton variant brings a bright turquoise to the marbled black case, with a matching rubber strap in bright turquoise. This model instantly evokes images of Mediterranean seaside resorts on a perfectly cloudless day, the sun pitched high above the horizon, and a gentle breeze coming off the sea. Its counterpart sees the sun setting as cocktails are served before dinner on the terrace: the burgundy case and complementary gold of the dial capture the warmth of the sun as it bids farewell and gives way to the excitement of the night ahead.
The Wild ONE Skeleton brings the same exceptional design and durability as previous Wild ONE models, making them ideal wrist companions on all your adventures. The case measures 42mm across and just 12.3mm-thick, with 25 components coming together for its unique silhouette. The movement is housed in a titanium core, which is wrapped in a rubber shock-absorbing bumper, all of which is finally sealed between the two-part proprietary NORTEQ protective cage. NORTEQ is the brand’s own carbon fiber composite, containing 60% bio-sourced material and developed in partnership with Jean-Claude Biver and BIWI SA. It has a striking marble patterning, and together with the BIWI rubber shock bumper, offers unparalleled durability that can withstand shocks up to 5,000g and will carry you through the most adventurous of days.
On the limited-edition burgundy Wild ONE Skeleton, it’s the NORTEQ that provides the color, while the BIWI bumper brightens the non-limited turquoise model. With sapphire crystals on the front and back and a rubber-clad screw-down crown, the watch achieves 200m of water resistance. The 22mm rubber strap creates a seamless transition with a NORTEQ pin buckle that matches the case. The novel construction and the skeletonized movement keep the Wild ONE Skeleton exceptionally light at just 78g—six grams less than previous Wild ONE models—offering unrivaled ease on the wrist.
Just as compelling as the expressive case is the multi-layered dial that reveals the intricacies of the skeletonized movement. The dials build on the depth of the movement’s inner workings with a black flange upon which polished skeleton indices are mounted. The chapter ring around the dial offers five-minute demarcations, while skeletonized hands with colored seconds provide excellent legibility. That legibility continues as the light gets low, with X1 Super-LumiNova applied to the handset and at each hour marker.
The colorful themes are continued on the dials. The burgundy edition sees its deep-colored case complemented by red gold-plated hands and hour markers with white lume and white printing on the flange and chapter ring. The turquoise is reinforced with rhodium-plated hands and markers, accented by turquoise lume and matching printing. Both watches have the NORQAIN name and its alpine logo printed on the underside of the sapphire crystal. NORQAIN balances the visual complexity of a skeletonized watch with vivid colors and legibility, crafting a watch that is not only capable but also beautiful.
The Wild ONE Skeleton is powered by the automatic NORQAIN Calibre NN08S, based on the Sellita SW200-1S. This certified chronometer movement offers exceptional timekeeping, with a power reserve of 41 hours at 28,8000 vph. The mechanics are on full view thanks to the open dial and the skeletonized design, and NORQAIN has further customized the caliber with a branded rotor.
