We felt that traditional minute markings didn’t add much to the design philosophy of AVL II. Instead, we replaced the usual multiples of five with popular focal lengths as a special nod to avid camera fans.

We like to think all our timepieces have a beating heart. Incorporating a skeleton design added to the look of a camera lens, while also showing the intricate, mechanical heart of the timepiece. Exposing the AVL II’s Miyota 82S0 movement helped marry the ideas of camera and timepiece, seamlessly.

We know that cameras and timepieces are very personal possessions. This is why we’ve fixed a metal plate to the side of AVL II where you can engrave your name or a short message of your choosing. This way, you can put your own personal signature on your timepiece.

While most vintage cameras did not have this feature, we felt it was a worthy modern luxury to include. AVL II is water-resistant up to 10ATM/100m, so you can wear your timepiece rain or shine without having to worry.
