Though NOMOS may be best known for its minimalist style and Bauhaus sensibility, the Club line has always been the spot to look in the brand’s catalog if you’re after a casual — and fun — NOMOS. The dials on these feature a sunburst finishing, making the watch shimmer in golden tones reminiscent of late summer. The Club Sport line provides all the casual appeal of the Club, but with added water resistance and a stainless-steel bracelet that make it a perfect everyday sport watch. Now, NOMOS introduces the new Club Sport neomatik 39 in a Goldilocks size and three stunning new colors — Tabac, Smoke, and Ember.
Since its introduction, the Club has been the most playful and youthful line in NOMOS’ catalog. With its multiple case sizes, California dials, and vibrant colorways, there’s a Club for anyone looking to add a fun and colorful NOMOS to their collection. Introduced in 2019, the Club Sport line represented an important shift for the line, with high water resistance, bright, long-lasting lume, and a sunburst dial. NOMOS followed up the success of the initial 41mm Club Sport with a smaller version in 37mm featuring luscious sunburst green or blue dials. With its newest release, NOMOS presents the Club Sport in a 39.5mm case that comfortably splits the difference between the two previous releases. This new case size and colorway completes the Club Sport family as well as your own collection. Like brown shoes or a brown belt, your watch collection is not complete without a brown watch.
Though the case size may have changed, the distinctive case shape of the Club remains. With its smooth lines and long, sweeping lugs, the Club has a structural beauty all its own. Despite the 200m of water resistance, the new Club Sport maintains an incredibly thin profile at only 8.5mm thick. Topped with a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inside, NOMOS also provides the option of a matching sapphire display caseback.
In addition to the new case size, NOMOS is offering the Club Sport neomatik 39 in three colors — Tabac, Smoke, and Ember. These new colorways represent a shift away from the bright and playful colors that typify the line, providing a more mature and nuanced color palette. Whether you choose the earthy brown tabac, warm ember, or cool gray smoke, each is finished with a dynamic sunburst finish.
Keeping with the Sport theme of the Club Sport line, the Arabic numerals and indices are recessed and filled with Super-LumiNova, glowing bright blue as the light dims the deeper you dive. Likewise, the rhodium-plated hour and minute hands are filled with ample lume. Like every Club, the Club Sport 39 features a sub-seconds register at 6 o’clock, with concentric rings that add depth and texture to the dial.
True to the proud watchmaking tradition of Glashütte, the NOMOS Club Sport neomatik 39 features the brand’s automatic in-house caliber DUW 3001. This neomatik caliber features 27 jewels, 43 hours of power reserve, and NOMOS’ swing system escapement. And, if you opt for the display caseback, you’ll be treated to thermally blued screws, rhodium-plating, Glashütte ribbing, and NOMOS perlage. It’s a gorgeous movement that’s without peer in its price range. Beauty is more than skin deep, however, as NOMOS regulates each movement in six positions to fall within chronometer specifications. Like the golden shimmer of the dial, the true gold lies in the watchmaking craft that lies within.
Like its siblings in the Club Sport line, the mid-size Club Sport neomatik 39 is available on NOMOS’s Club Sport bracelet. Featuring a traditional three-link design, the bracelet features brushed outer links with polished inner links that complement the high polish of the case. In true NOMOS style, the bracelet is clean and minimal, with a simple polished push-button clasp. However, if you’re after a different look, you can instead opt for NOMOS’ Sport Bracelet or one of its über-comfortable textile straps. With a 20mm lug width, it’s easy to switch up the look to match your style.
The newest member of the Club Sport family in its mid-size case is available now for $3,700. To learn more about the NOMOS Club Sport neomatik 39, please visit the brand’s website.
