The new Spinnaker Sorrento SP-5067 watch is designed to evoke the wooden-hulled speed boats seen on the eponymous Italian coast in a way that’s immediately recognizable to the wearer. The Sorrento is all about the bezel, which is inlaid with sustainably sourced rosewood that is treated to be weather-resistant and tough enough to withstand everyday life. We are proud to release the new Spinnaker Sorrento SP-5067 watch as the latest high-quality piece that stands out from the crowd, while being accessible to fans of the brand and newcomers, alike.
The bezel of the Spinnaker Sorrento is done in a sustainably sourced rosewood insert that we have inlaid onto a stainless-steel bezel. You’ll see the six screws that we use to affix the wood to the bezel, which doubles as an aesthetic flair on top of its practical purpose. Of course, we assemble the device in a way that has each of the screws fitting perfectly as part of the high standard of refinement we maintain for each Spinnaker.
Moving onto the dial, the theme of the wooden hull is echoed in the horizontal pattern on the inner disc of the dial. The aesthetic theme is distinct, without being too obvious, which we’re very proud of. The rest of the dial features faceted hour markers and around the previously mentioned inner disc, you’ll see the minute track that corresponds with each of the three variants of the Spinnaker Sorrento. The hands are pencil-shaped and have a generous application of lume (along with the applied indices). Finally, you’ll notice the seconds sub-dial between 4 and 5 o’clock and the date window at 3 o’clock.
The case of the Spinnker Sorrento measures 43mm-wide and 13.6mm-thick. The water resistance is 100 meters, which provides ample protection to regular water exposure and sports. The exhibition case back reveals a view into the automatic 8218 Miyota movement, a reliable workhorse that has a parashock system and provides a weekend-length power reserve of 42 hours.
The Spinnaker Sorrento SP-5067 comes on a hand-stitched leather strap and is available in three dial variants: brown, blue, and a two-colored dark wood style. The Spinnaker Sorrento watch is priced at $310. You can learn more on their website here.
