In this episode, Ariel speaks to RedBar founder Adam Craniotes. The two discuss the return of in-person watch events and the evolving nature of the watch enthusiast community. Later, Ariel speaks with the CEO of Greubel Forsey, Mr. Antonio Calce, about the latest plans from the prestigious makers of some of the world’s most exceptionally finished luxury watches.
Calce is followed by Spending Time Dubai Watch Week 2021 interviews with leaders of three ultra-high-end luxury watch brands, including Jacob Arabo of Jacob & Co., Jean-Marie Schaller of Louis Moinet, and Pascal Raffy of Bovet. Each considers the Middle East, a crucially important market, and discusses how modern consumer trends are impacting their product development and marketing plans.
Later, Ariel speaks with Manuel Emch, formerly of Jaquet Droz and Romain Jerome, who now has creative leadership at the Swiss watchmaker Louis Erard, as well as the Russian watchmaker Raketa (both exhibitors at Dubai Watch Week 20210. Last, we hear from Thomas Morf who just founded the watch brand Aramedes whose first timepiece is a classically styled hybrid mechanical/smartwatch intended for the Islamic prayer-need market. Morf comes from a background working at Carl F. Bucherer, Graham, and Favre-Leuba.
