Jaeger LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon à Quantième Perpétuel
Jaeger LeCoultre’s Master Grande Tradition is a beautiful amalgamation of technical performance and refined aesthetics. It is a timepiece for those who love complications—this watch does it all with a perpetual calendar, moon phases and a tourbillon. It is powered by a Caliber 987, a Jaeger LeCoultre automatic movement with a two-day power reserve. Not only does it pack a punch, it is aesthetically stunning with its pink gold case, silvered velvet dial and brown alligator strap.
Parmigiani Fleurier Pershing Tourbillon Abyss
Parmigiani Fleurier’s partnership with Pershing has yielded some beautiful timepieces in the Pershing collection, but none more spectacular than the Pershing Abyss Tourbillon. Unveiled at SIHH 2013, the Pershing Abyss features a 45mm case that is cast in grade-5 titanium making it extremely light considering its size. The titanium pairs beautifully with the rose gold bezel and is affixed to an indigo blue alligator strap. Its dial is uniquely styled with a wave pattern created with brilliant blues and houses the 30-second tourbillon in the six o’clock position. Limited to a production run of only 30 pieces, this desirable watch is surely one to see!
Rolex 50th Anniversary Cosmograph Daytona Platinum
Rolex shocked the pundits with the release of their 50th Anniversary Cosmograph Daytona. Instead of being crafted in steel, like former references, this is the first Cosmograph to be created in platinum making it an extremely sought after (and highly collectable) timepiece. Many Rolex owners have been jonesying for a ceramic bezel on the Cosmograph and Rolex delivered with a chestnut brown Cerachrom bezel accented with a spectacular ice blue dial.
Panerai Luminor Tourbillon GMT Ceramica (# 9/100)
If you don’t love this watch simply for what it is, you’ll surely love that it is a low number within a limited series. Just the ninth of its kind to be created (out of a limited run of 100 pieces) this watch is a dynamo. Its 48mm ceramic case is large and bold, and beautifully complimented by the aged brown strap. The powerhouse lies behind the sandwich dial, a P.2005/B movement that is black coated to match the ceramic case. Unlike many tourbillon movements, the P.2005 has a secret tourbillon that cannot be seen from the dial. When you turn the watch over, you can then see the tourbillon through the sapphire crystal case back.
Patek Philippe Reference 5170G
New in 2013, Patek Philippe introduced the counterpart to its 5170J yellow gold chronograph, the Reference 5170G. While the 5170J and 5170G are very similar, there are some subtle yet defining aesthetic differences. The 5170G is styled with Breguet markers set against a sleek silvery white dial and a 39mm white gold case. This fantastic two-register chronograph is powered by Patek’s in-house CH 29-535 PS manual wound movement.
