The Defender Collection is a new military-inspired collection by Sakab Watches. The inspiration from the military found within the watches design are subtle and not meant to detract from its bold design. Its unique shape is aimed at challenging the industry norms without compromising the integrity of a quality timepiece. Our Defender collection prototypes measure 40mm wide with a substantial 58mm lug to lug, which will be decreased in size to 53mm lug to lug when we mass produce them. The case is 316L grade surgical steel and carries a height of 10.45mm. We included a quick release system on the straps so you can switch them out as often as you’d like with ease and without the need for tools.

The caseback of the Defender has a sapphire crystal exhibition window showcasing the Miyota 8219 automatic self-winding movement. This is a solid Japanese movement that operates at 21,600 vph and provides a 42-hour power reserve. On the dial, you’ll find a date window, and two sub-dials, a sweeping seconds hand, and a 24-hour indicator. Also, the bezel has the 24-hour time that is synonymous with how the military tells time.

We mentioned the four different versions of the Defender, and here is a brief description of each. The Vessel has a classic brushed stainless-steel case with a navy blue dial accented with silver. The Submarine model comes in a matte PVD black stainless-steel case with a black dial accented with gold touches. The Ladder is probably our most “popular” piece, with a stainless-steel case that houses a bold red dial accented with silver. Finally, the Boundary comes in a rose gold stainless-steel case with a mocha brown dial and rose gold accents. All the watches have a red 2 & 7 that represents the Founder/CEO’s military service on board the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72).

All Sakab Defender watches have a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. The cases are also waterproof to 5 ATM which is equivalent to 50m or 165 feet.
