Arguably no watch brand better embodies a sci-fi aesthetic than Urwerk, and many of its models could easily serve as props in high-budget Hollywood films. However, one of the few criticisms of the brand is that a significant portion of its catalog is simply too avant-garde for casual wear in daily life, and while countless collectors appreciate Urwerk’s definitively futuristic aesthetic, sometimes people just want something that feels a bit more like a traditional wristwatch. For its latest release of 2025, Urwerk has put forward one of the most “traditional” timepieces that we have seen from the Geneva-based brand, and the new Urwerk UR-100V Magic T “Hunter Green” expands upon the series by pairing a titanium case and bracelet with dark green finishing throughout its movement and satellite display system.
The new Urwerk UR-100V Magic T “Hunter Green” is essentially the green-colored version of the original UR-100V Magic T that debuted in 2023 and introduced a matching titanium bracelet to the brand’s popular UR-100V collection. Unlike the inaugural UR-100V Magic T, which featured a predominantly gray color profile to lean into the natural hues of its titanium case and bracelet, the new “Hunter Green” version swaps out gray for ash green, and it replaces the small red accents of the original model with bright lime-green equivalents for a more cohesive overall appearance. Making a green-dial version of an existing watch hardly qualifies as groundbreaking innovation, although Urwerk’s new timepiece offers a noticeably more conventional design compared to the vast majority of the brand’s contemporary lineup, and the UR-100V Magic T “Hunter Green” combines signature Urwerk details like a spaceship-shaped case and satellite display with popular design elements like a familiar colorway and an integrated bracelet to create a highly approachable expression of the UR-100V.
From an external standpoint, the new Urwerk UR-100V Magic T “Hunter Green” is more-or-less identical to the original Magic T model from 2023, and it features a sandblasted and shot-blasted titanium case that measures 41mm in diameter by 14mm thick, with an overall lug-to-lug profile of 49.7mm. Just like other UR-100 models, a decent amount of the watch’s overall on-paper height is occupied by the domed sapphire crystal that covers the mechanics of its orbiting satellite display, and its crown is positioned on the side of the case at 12 o’clock to maintain the symmetry of its space-age profile. As you would expect, a secondary sapphire crystal is fitted to the caseback to offer an unobstructed view of the internal movement, and water resistance comes in at a standard 30 meters to protect against incidental contact. Similar to the original Magic T model, the new UR-100V Magic T “Hunter Green” is paired with a solid-link titanium bracelet, which features the same sandblasted and shot-blasted finishing that can be found throughout the case of the watch.
Inside the Urwerk UR-100V Magic T “Hunter Green” is the same 40-jewel Caliber UR 12.02 automatic movement that can be found within other UR-100V models; however, the majority of its components (including the ones that form its carousel-mounted satellite display) have been given a metallic ash green finish to create the “Hunter Green” edition’s signature colorway. Running at a frequency of 28,800vph (4 Hz) with a power reserve of 48 hours, the Urwerk Cal. 12.02 tracks the hours and minutes along the lower half of its display, while two additional indicators are positioned along the upper perimeter. Rather than being additional complications, the two indicators simply use the natural motion of the centrally-mounted carousel to track two (somewhat arbitrary) metrics of Earth’s movement that occur every 20 minutes. One indicator shows the 555 kilometers covered by the Earth as it rotates on its own axis, and the other tracks the 35,740 kilometers traveled by the Earth as it revolves around the Sun. Realistically speaking, neither of these indicators serves any practical purpose, although they undeniably add to the space-age vibes of the series and make the UR-100V more than just a time-only watch.
For my personal tastes and preferences, I often feel that Urwerk is at its strongest when it produces ultra-futuristic and slightly esoteric models, with some of my recent favorites being the UR-120 “Spock” and EMC SR-71 (neither of which even look remotely close to a traditional wristwatch). That said, none of my favorite Urwerk models are pieces that I could actually see myself wearing daily, and I do understand some people’s desire for a more conventional offering from the brand. Urwerk’s bracelet-equipped UR-100V Magic T watches offer all of the hallmark traits of an Urwerk timepiece, and they are fundamentally different offerings than other high-end integrated bracelet watches. However, I would still describe the bracelet-equipped Magic T series as Urwerk’s answer to historic models like the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak or Patek Philippe Nautilus, and the new “Hunter Green” version represents a more approachable expression of an Urwerk for collectors who might be accustomed to traditional luxury watches.
Green is typically a color associated with nature and organic life, while the overall aesthetic of Urwerk’s catalog generally tends towards the robotic, and the prominent use of a metallic ash green for the watch’s intricate mechanics provides the UR-100V Magic T “Hunter Green” with a unique visual contrast. The new Urwerk UR-100V Magic T “Hunter Green” will be produced as a limited edition of 35 examples, and it will have an official retail price of $66,000 USD, which is the same as what you can expect to pay for its all-gray sibling that debuted two years ago. Some collectors may find this almost tame expression of an Urwerk to be a bit underwhelming compared to some of the truly bonkers models in the brand’s catalog, although the new “Hunter Green” version of the UR-100V was never intended to be the brand’s most “out there” offering, and it is very much a hyper-modern rendition of the classic integrated bracelet watch.
