Unapologetically bold and brash is the name of the game at Hublot, and that ethos carries on loud and clear with its new release: the Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Ceramic Carbon Beige Camo watch. According to Hublot, the watch was designed to “capture the essence of American Heritage and the rugged beauty of the American desert landscape,” which in the metal, translates to earthy beiges, blacks, and, of course, camouflage.
The Spirit of the Big Bang collection is characterized by tonneau-shaped cases and this chronograph sports a 42mm one that’s 14.1mm thick. In true Hublot form, there are plenty of different materials that make up the construction of the watch. For instance, the case is fashioned from micro-blasted black ceramic while the bezel is made from matte beige frosted carbon. The winding crown and chronograph pushers are crafted from satin-finished black titanium, shrouded in black rubber.
However, the star of this limited-edition Hublot watch is the camouflage pattern that spreads across the bezel, strap, and movement, which is visible thanks to the skeletonized dial. A closer look at the skeletonized dial and movement reveals a date window at 4:30, a chronograph minutes counter at 3 o’clock, and a chronograph hours counter at 6 o’clock. The running seconds subdial is at 9 o’clock while the center of the dial is home to skeletonized hour and minute hands. The central chronograph hand includes the signature “H” for Hublot counterweight, sitting opposite the skeletonized tip.
Responsible for the watch’s operation is the Caliber HUB4700 skeleton chronograph self-winding movement, operating at 36,000vph and supplying 50 hours of power reserve. The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters and comes with two straps. The first is a structured rubber strap decorated in the same black, grey, and beige camouflage motif peppered throughout the watch. This one is furnished with a micro-blasted black ceramic and black titanium deployant buckle. The second is a more understated black Velcro fastener fabric strap, fitted with a black ceramic buckle.
Hublot has opted to make the Spirit of the Big Bang Ceramic Carbon Beige Camo watch an e-commerce exclusive.
