microLUX CHICAGO is winding its mainspring to power up for its next event in the Windy City, taking place October 18-19, 2019. The event will have over 35 independent and micro-brands showcasing their newest and favorite pieces, alongside their entire product line. Industry insiders, brand ambassadors, collectors and watch enthusiasts will celebrate and talk about their favorite brands and watches. The modern and trendy ARTSPACE8 will host the event on its 3rd and 4th floors, inviting microLUX CHICAGO guests into the expanse filled with contemporary art.
Brought to Chicago by popular demand, with presenting sponsors Perrelet and Rich Park from the YouTube channel whatsontthewrist, microLUX CHICAGO is the second event of its kind after its success in Los Angeles as LAmicroLUX. This is a FREE event with watch raffles from brands such as AVI-8, Davosa, Farr + Swift, and Vanguard, as well as watches and merchandise for purchase from over 35 brands in attendance.
Attendees can gather on the 3rd floor to hear from multiple brand representatives about trends and the current state of the watch industry, interviewed by Ariel Adams of aBlogtoWatch on Friday, October 18.
Some retailers and Authorized Dealers may carry a good selection of popular watch brands, but many do not have or even know about microbrands and independent brands. With so many quality and unique microbrands and independents emerging on the scene, it can be difficult and confusing to navigate the watch landscape. With this in mind, microLUX CHICAGO is serving up the best of the best, all under one roof. So, whether you’re a seasoned watch collector, fashion influencer, avid watch enthusiast or the local timepiece aficionado, this will be a great opportunity to check out all that is new and collectible.
If your passion for timepieces extends beyond the beautiful aesthetics and collectability into the mechanical heartbeat of the balance spring, you’re in luck! AWCI, American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute, will be onsite, on Saturday, October 19, with watchmaking professionals teaching their acclaimed Build a Watch class. microLUX CHICAGO attendees participating in this class will assemble a Swiss Made ETA 6497 movement, lubricate the inner parts, install the dial and hands, and finish the class by casing the watch and wearing it home on your wrist.
You’ll feel right at home or at least very comfortable with the “open house” format allowing you to stay as long as you please, asking as many questions as you can think of, and chatting up your fellow “watch geeks.” The event will be open for exhibition between the hours of 11am and 7pm on Friday and 10am t0 6pm on Saturday, with special features and announcements throughout both days of the event. There will be multiple opportunities allowing you to compare watches and converse about each other’s passion for this timeless craft.
