Measuring 43mm in diameter (14mm in thickness) in its stainless steel case topped by a sapphire crystal and powered by a Japanese NH35 automatic movement, the Hass Automatic has 300m of water resistance — more than enough to get you down to Bikini Bottom and beyond.
Spinnaker is no stranger to collaboration, but this pairing is like nothing seen before on land or undersea. Spinnaker goes well beyond a simple color change for the SpongeBob SquarePants series, instead customizing the dial, bezel, and lume, and even providing an extra strap to fit each character.
SpongeBob’s infectious smile is sure to brighten even the darkest days. Indeed, when the lights go out, his smile still shines with a mix of Swiss luminous paint on the dial and bezel. Patrick and Mr. Krabs also have big smiles to share on the dial, but Squidward just wouldn’t be Squidward without a sour frown. And Spinnaker hasn’t skimped on any of the details — even the color-matched date wheel is customized with the show’s tropical font.
Atop the dial sit tall and color-matched applied indices and oversized hands that remind you that this watch is much more than a novelty — it’s a fully equipped and utterly capable diver. The unidirectional, bi-color bezel with its luminous markers, works just as well for timing dives as it does for a bit of quick inspiration. Ringing the inner dial is a fitting quote from SpongeBob as he channeled his inner Dr. Seuss: “You never really know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”
Each watch comes mounted on a tapering 22mm stainless-steel bracelet with a fold-over buckle and safety lock and push button clasp. However, Spinnaker took things a step further, creating color-matched silicone straps that are a perfect fit for each character: yellow for SpongeBob, pink for Patrick, green for Squidward, and of course red for Mr. Krabs.
