By creating several watch models with automatic and quartz movements over the past 4 years, Vancouver-based micro brand Ferro & Company has decided to add a hand wound dress watch collection to its lineup. With its 5th Kickstarter campaign launched on January 31st of 2018, the company aims to fund its second Swiss Made limited edition watch called the Ferro & Company Traditum (Tradition) Collection, which reflects the aesthetics of historical watch designs with sophisticated, yet beautiful and everlasting movements.
The Traditum collection comes in two distinct series: The Arabica and The Roman, which will be in a 43mm stainless steel dual finish case and will also be available with a solid 18k rose gold bezel.
The Arabica series boasts a fusion of historic and contemporary design while keeping its minimalistic appearance while the Roman series shows a great deal of a historical touch.
The combination of vertically brushed finishing on the sides of the 316L stainless steel case and shiny polishing on the bezel augment a sense of attitude and elegance in the watch.
The fine crafted large sized onion crown balances the overall look and feel of the watch and makes it easy to set the time and manually wind the timepiece.
Connected to the 22mm lugs via screw pins, the fine Italian leather straps with alligator patterns and a polished deployant clasp blend well with the Traditum timepiece, making it a pleasant watch to wear with ultra comfort.
The scratch-proof sapphire crystal and exhibition caseback allow you to enjoy the beautifully decorated ETA 6498 Swiss movements with Cotes de Genève stripes and our custom logo engraving.
The ETA 6498 movements measure 16.5 ligne (36.6mm) in diameter and 4.5mm thick thanks to a compact manual winding design, are fully jeweled (17 jewels), and operate at 18,000 A/h with 40-50 hours of power reserve.
The Kickstarter campaign was so well-received that it reached its goal of $18,000 in the first few hours of the initial launch! Perks include special Kickstarter prices of CAN $729 (approx. US $578) for stainless steel versions and CAN $3,000 (approx. US $2,380) for solid 18k rose gold bezel models. Future retail prices will be $1,100 and $4,500 respectively. Recently, Ferro & Company has even added a new Top Grade 6498 movement reward tier for CAN $1,099 (approx. US $870). All the watches will have Free Worldwide Shipping.
