Creux Automatiq, a boutique brand hailing from the sunny shores of Sydney, Australia are set to take on the luxury watch industry. Born from the idea of combining sports luxury with affordable Swiss made production, the founder Dane Rumble says “I grew tired of the over-inflated pricing and the stuffy nature of the Swiss watch industry. With this intention, CA launched the Ghost series with the very striking and popular Ghost CA-01 model. “We were blown away by the positive response to the Ghost – the 01 sold out so quickly, we weren’t really prepared for that,” says Dane.
The following year the CA team, along with Swiss production group Swiss Tech, focused their attention on revising and fine tuning the Ghost model, and launching into production three new additions to the Ghost Series; The Ghost Shadow, Ghost Explorer, and the Ghost GEN II.
The Ghost Gen II has taken some design cues from the Lamborghini Aventador, with its avant-garde case design, combining both angular and curved shapes that flow seamlessly together. The dial is particularly special with its 3D numeric markers and hour indicators, applied meticulously by hand to the second layer of dial crystal, to give the markers the appearance of floating above the signature 33 jewel skeletonized date movement.
The movement itself is completely unique to this price point. The level of detail that goes into the Swiss-tech produced 28,800A/H movement is quite extraordinary. The different zinc, alloy, and steel components have all been treated with a number of finishes, ranging from brushed PVD titanium to sand blasted, yellow gold accents. Every movement is hand assembled and tested in Switzerland, and comes complete with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Each of the Ghost series models are limited to 100 production pieces only. Watch enthusiasts can purchase Creux Automatiq pieces from their website as well as select retailers around the globe. Pricing is $2,400 USD.
