Carl-F-Bucherer-Patravi-Scubatec-Ladies-Watch

Despite the genderized nomenclature, the new Carl F. Bucherer Patravi Scubatec Ladies models could easily be worn by men who prefer a smaller diameter or a pastel colorway. That is really a compliment to Bucherer’s decision to retain the truly sporty character of these watches and resist the temptation to dress them up with anything more overtly “feminine” than a white ceramic bezel and a fetching array of colored strap options.

Analysis

Good watch design should transcend gender. And to me, the new Carl F. Bucherer Patravi Scubatec Ladies watches do just that. The hope is, of course, that this sympathetically sized watch can stand out of the crowd enough to be recognized. What is honestly a solid daily wear, with a range of coordination options (especially if you ditch the colored strap and go for something totally neutral), does have a lot of competition from similarly-styled options from more mainstream brands.

The Patravi Scubatec Ladies is part of the dive watch range from this evermore noticeable Swiss brand. There are four variants here but the only difference lies in the rubber straps each comes with. The four strap options are Ocean (light blue), Sunset (coral), Sand (pink beige), and Palm Tree (light green). All four come in stainless steel cases with moderate dimensions of 36.5mm-wide and 11.37mm- thick, and have white ceramic bezels. The dial is also white and features a “curvy wave” pattern. Finally, the hour indices and hands are all coated with a thick application of Super-LumiNova.

The watches are powered by the Caliber CFB 1950, which I believe is an ETA-2892 equivalent. It’s a reliable movement but it’s nothing to get excited about. Beat rate is 4 Hz and the power reserve is around 38 hours.

Conclusion

These new Patravi Lady Scubatec watches are honest in their execution. There are no superfluous diamonds, streaks of pink, or anything distasteful that detracts from their overall design. It’s simply a very decent take on a smaller-cased dive watch that I think will appeal to both women and men alike. Prices of the Carl F. Bucherer Patravi Scubatec Ladies are unavailable at the time of this writing but we will update the article once we receive details. In the meantime, you can learn more at carl-f-bucherer.com.
