Geneva Watch Days 2020, first announced earlier this month as a brand-led replacement for the cancelled Watches & Wonders 2020 show in Geneva planned for late April 2020, has been rescheduled to August 26 through August 29, 2020 due to the continuing global COVID-19 pandemic. The event, planned as a decentralized alternative to the traditional trade show model of Baselworld and Watches & Wonders, is scheduled to occur across multiple venues across the city of Geneva. Several brands have already committed to the new dates, including Bulgari, Breitling, Ulysse Nardin, Girard-Perregaux, Gerald Genta, Urwerk, H. Moser & Cie, De Bethune and MB&F, with organizers expecting another 15 to 20 brands to join the lineup.

This new announcement comes amid a series of manufacturing shutdowns across the industry, as major brand groups including Rolex, TAG Heuer, Hublot, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, and more have temporarily halted production to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Some brands have remained hopeful about the ongoing situation, however, as Swatch Group president Nick Hayek has vowed to keep production running amid promising signs of improvement in the key market of China.
