1. The Seiko Prospex Diver SLA017J1 or SBDX019 (homage to the 1965 Seiko 62MAS Ref. 6217-8000/1 Diver) – A Legend and an Excellent Get-And-Go Watch for any Occasion, A Review (plus Video)
For Seiko fans, the new Prospex Diver SLA017 or SBDX019 must be the most exciting watch released at Baselworld 2017. For those unfamiliar with the SLA017, it is essentially a modern reissue of Seiko’s very first dive watch, the Seiko 62Mas from 1965. The SLA017 is now slowly but surely making its way to Seiko collectors around the world and personal reviews of the watch are now popping up all over the Internet. We covered the watch here, but I also want to point you toward one of the most detailed personal reviews that I have come across. If you’re still sitting on the fence about this piece, maybe this review can help you.

2. The Burgeoning Universe of Online Retailing
People’s purchasing habits have changed dramatically over the past few years. Increasingly, people are buying things online as opposed to traditional brick-and-mortar stores. Watch brands, however, have been quite resistant to this trend, but it looks like things are about to change. Some of the more forward-thinking brands have expressed their intention to sell watches online. IWC, for instance, announced late last year that it will begin selling watches online at Mr. Porter and Net-A-Porter. Find out what industry luminaries like Jean-Christophe Babin (Bulgari), Jean-Claude Biver (LVMH), and Carlos Rosillo (Bell & Ross) think about online watch retail.

4. 6152 1. Corpo Dei Carabinieri
Panerai watches are true tool watches. The earliest Panerai watches were designed and only issued to men in the military. They were the embodiment of the phrase “form follows function.” The way they looked, their large dials, their unique crowns, were instructed by specific roles and tasks that they were asked to perform. As a result, is it any wonder that they continue to enjoy one of the most dedicated fan-bases in all of horology? For fans of the brand, the ref. 6152/1 is one of the holy grails of vintage Panerai watches and this is the story of how one was acquired by a Panerai lover.

5. Living With The Omega Speedmaster “Speedy Tuesday”
In January this year, Omega surprised, well, nearly everyone with the Speedmaster “Speedy Tuesday.” The watch was a limited edition piece that was born out of the popular #SpeedyTuesday hashtag that Speedmaster fans would use on every Tuesday when posting photos of their Speedmasters on popular social media platforms like Instagram. Also unusual was that the watch was offered exclusively online and that it sold out (all 2012 pieces) in mere hours. So, what is the fuss behind this watch and does it live up to all of its hype? Read this detailed review to find out.
