Albanian jewelry brand Artistic Jewellery Pirro, founded in 1995 by Mr. Pirro Ruço, celebrates the unique and exceptional artisanship of Albania and puts this small Balkan country on the map of high-end horology with its release of Primordial Passion, the Pirro Maison’s first timepiece — and the first watch ever made in Albania.
Long known for high-quality jewelry, medals, coin reliefs, figurines, miniature sculptures, and handmade filigree artwork, the Pirro brand represents the timeless spirit and energy of Albanian history. The project, which was meticulously developed over five years, is designed to be a spiritual bridge between this evolving country’s rich, storied past and its bright future. Each piece crafted by the brand is a valuable artifact, worthy of being passed down through generations and representing an important part of the country’s history and culture. As a trusted steward of ancient Albanian culture, Pirro has earned its rightful place as a symbol of national pride.
Primordial Passion, a pièce unique, masterfully embodies a synergism between advanced innovative techniques and traditional classical aesthetics. If Pirro’s core values are heritage, artisanal craftsmanship, and precision, then the brand’s first in-house-manufactured watch is the physical incarnation of these values and the pinnacle of the many achievements that led to the realization of this dream.
The case, crown, and dial are all made of 18k yellow gold. The hours are marked by 12 Albanian folk dancers, also made of 18k yellow gold, representing the country’s 12 diverse regions in a hyper-realistic style. Each figurine is designed and engraved within a micron range of 9-10mm in height, preserving the originality of the sculptural artwork. Hands are stylized to look like eagle talons (the national symbol of Albania) emanating from beneath four additional musician figurines (also in 18k gold) held by an eagle in black gold, and under the high sapphire crystal dome with anti-reflective coating are — amazingly — 1,500 individual Murano glass tiles, a seemingly impossible feat. The tiles appear in a range of eight colors and 64 different cuts, the smallest just 0.2mm, resulting in a uniquely stunning micro-mosaic effect.
Primordial Passion is 46.5mm in diameter and 22mm in height, giving it a bold yet distinctively elegant present on the wrist. The manual-wind mechanical movement is made by Geneva-based Agenhor and has 50 hours of power reserve at 21,600 vph.
On top of the domed sapphire crystal, just above the four musician figurines, a black onyx Pirro logo is centered. Around back, engraved in micro-relief, is an illustrated scene representing traditional folk dancers. The watch comes with a genuine leather lizard strap held by an 18k yellow-gold pin buckle.

Ruço says, “I want to measure time with timeless beauty, by creating artistic and unique watches that transcend functionality to become enduring pieces of art.” To bring this watch into being as a fully in-house project, he invested in cutting-edge high Swiss manufacturing technology The technical expertise and artistic and aesthetic prowess that brought Primordial Passion into being classify it as a true masterpiece.
The watch case measures 46.5mm in diameter and 22mm in height, including the sapphire crystal dome that houses the 16 18k gold figurines that bring this watch to life in vivid and dramatic style.
More than a watch, this timepiece is a work of art, born in Albania — a pièce unique crafted with love and care that keeps important history and tradition alive. The price is set at CHF 1,200,000. Visit the Pirro Artistic Jewellery website for more information.
