Bulova and Frank Sinatra had a long history together that ranged from partnerships to Bulova being a timepiece of choice for the crooner. This year, Bulova announced the Frank Sinatra collection, a series of 10 watches that embody the spirit of the Rat Pack era of the 1950s and 60s. These watches range in size, shape, and design but all carry the ethos that a stylish and cool timepiece should also be accessible and, most of all, fun to wear. Let’s take a closer look at the Bulova Frank Sinatra collection, named after Old Blue Eyes’ hits “The Best is Yet to Come,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Young at Heart,” and “My Way.”
The Best Is Yet to Come series consists of three 40mm-wide round-case pieces in steel or gold-toned steel. Seen here in steel on the steel bracelet with a gray linen dial (Ref. 96B346), this collection has distinct lugs that flare out just a little bit. These watches have large alpha-shaped hands, textured dials, date window at 3 o’clock, and Sinatra signature with hat at 6 o’clock.
This collection also has a sleek profile because it has a Swiss manual-wind movement that is visible through the exhibition case back. The Sellita SW215 movement operates at 28,800 vph and has a weekend-long 42-hour power reserve.
The Fly Me to the Moon series is also made up of three watches, though these are a bit more 1960s-retro in their case design. With a cushion-shaped case measuring 39mm-wide, these pieces have a lively and refined fluted sunburst pattern to the dials. These dials alternate between Arabic numerals and applied indices, while also featuring the date window at 3 o’clock and Sinatra signature and hat at 6 o’clock. Seen above in a steel case with white dial, this model is also available in a black dial as well as a gold-toned steel case with white dial.
Through the exhibition caseback, you can see the automatic Miyota 8215 movement, which also has a 42-hour power reserve.
The Young at Heart series is made up of two tonneau-shaped case pieces measuring 33.5mm-wide and 45mm-tall. Seen here in the brown sunray dial, it is also available in a lighter silver-white sunray dial. Both variants come in a gold-toned steel case and on a calf leather strap. Unique to the other three styles, the Young at Heart watches have the Sinatra hat logo at 12 o’clock.
These also run on the automatic Miyota 8215 movement with a 42-hour power reserve.
Finally, there is the My Way series, a rectangular “tank-style” cased duo with an Art Deco-inspired design. Measuring 29.5mm-wide and 47mm-tall, it’s seen here in the steel case with black dial and is also available in a gold-toned case with a silver-white dial.
The My Way watches have an enclosed steel caseback and run on a quartz movement.
The Bulova Frank Sinatra collection honors the legendary singer and style icon through these 10 watches. The collection is priced in a way that’s accessible to both collectors and more casual watch buyers, and each piece comes in special packaging inspired by a vinyl record box set. The quartz My Way series is priced at $495 in steel and $525 in gold-tone; the tonneau-cased Young at Heart is priced at $695; the Fly Me to the Moon series is priced at $750 in steel and $825 in gold-tone; and the Best is Yet to Come is priced at $1,150 in steel on strap, $1,195 in gold-tone, and $1,350 on steel bracelet.
