Timed this year to coincide with Father’s Day gifting, the 9th Annual Madison Avenue Watch Week is scheduled from Monday, June 10 – Saturday, June 15 in New York City. This year’s impressive roster of the participating watch brands includes: A. Lange & Söhne, Apple, David Yurman, De Beers Jewellers, F.P. Journe, Hublot Boutique, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Panerai, and Vacheron Constantin. British luxury brand Smythson will showcase its extensive fine-leather watch accessory collection.
In keeping with the Master Watchmakers theme, A. Lange & Söhne is hosting a presentation by a Master Watchmaker of select 2019 Novelties, inviting guests to discover the new Zeitwerk Date caliber under the microscope, and learn about complications such as the Richard Lange Jumping Seconds. Apple will offer workshops to navigate and customize your Apple Watch by connecting to your favorite apps, setting up fitness tracking, and exploring watch face options. F.P. Journe will showcase master watchmaker François-Paul Journe’s exclusive timepieces for men and women, along with Special Boutique Editions. Enter to win a grab bag filled with accessories at Hublot and a coveted try-on of the newest timepieces. Jaeger-LeCoultre will be hosting watchmaking Master Classes along with an exclusive tasting of Louis XIII cognac. Montblanc will be featuring the new 1858 collection inspired by the legendary Minerva watches from the 1920s and 1930s, conceived for military use and exploration. Panerai will reveal a new watch every day by private appointments with a Champagne toast: Lo Scienziato, Luminor Due Collection, Luminor GMT, Submersible BMG-TECH. Vacheron Constantin has arranged a preview of select 2019 watch releases in honor of Madison Avenue Watch Week. David Yurman and De Beers Jewellers will present new collections for men and women.
A highlight of the week-long event will be the Masters Watchmakers Panel on Tuesday, June 11 moderated by renowned timepiece journalist Aaron Sigmond, a contributing writer at aBlogtoWatch and Assouline author. Serving on the panel are NPD watch and luxury industry analyst Reginald “Reg” Brack, Pierre Halimi, General Manager of Montres Journe America LLC, and A. Lange & Söhne master watchmaker, Ville Santaharju. The event will be held in a sprawling Fifth Avenue penthouse courtesy of The BAHAR Team at Compass.
Immediately following, there will be a guided Watch Week Collectors Tour. This is a private showing of the exceptional new timepieces in the participating watch boutiques for the watch enthusiast and collector.
